Theodore J. F. “Pete” Oestreich founded our company in 1904. After his death in 1962, his son, Robert, ran the business for the next nine years. In 1971, his grandson, also Robert, along with several long time employees, purchased the business. Throughout the years, all the partners have retired except for Robert Oestreich. As each of the partners retired, one of the current employees has risen up to ownership to take his place. The current owners are grandson Robert as the president of the company and his business partners Charles Rapson, Richard Zettergren, and Spero Ventsias. The business was founded with the idea of helping people. During the early years, helping people ranged from working on locks to replacement of glass and upholstery in cars. During the early times of Oestreich Sales, Pete did a little bit of everything. He was a very talented and gifted man with inventiveness and intuitiveness in relation to the repair of hardware. During a slow time one summer he even invented an electric hot dog machine so he could sell hot dogs to the local neighborhood. Times change and so do the needs of people. Pete saw the need for more of the standard locksmithing and began to direct his company with those goals in mind. With Petes’ retirement, his son Bob came to ownership, and he strove to urge the company forward. The company continued its success under Bob’s leadership and gradually grew in size. When Bob retired, all of the employees banded together with Robert, Pete’s Grandson and formed the corporation known today as Oestreich Sales & Service, Inc. Under Robert’s direction and today acting as President of the corporation, the company continues its focus of personal interaction and direction to solving security needs. Oestreich Sales no longer installs glass or upholstery as it became very evident that mechanical and electronic locksmithing were the future of the company. Today Oestreich Sales’ focus is electronic and mechanical locksmithing with a solid background of integrity and honesty. Oestreich Sales & Service has a keen eye towards the future while maintaining the strong sense of history from the days of Pete Oestreich as founder. |
